De Nora win an order for PPG Glanor Project

Industrie De Nora is proud to announce that PPG, one of the major global supplier of paints, coatings, optical products, specialty materials, chemicals, glass and fiber glass and one of its historic chlor-alkali customers, has recently sign a contract with De Nora to convert part of its Glanor plants.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PPG Industries was established in 1883 as Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company. The Company operates three chlor-alkali facilities in North America – Lake Charles, LA (diaphragm and membrane), Natrium, WV (diaphragm and Mercury) in USA, and Beauharnois, QC (membrane) in Canada.

Recently PPG has decided to convert part of its Lake Charles facility, one of the largest chlorine producing facilities in the world, with capacity of over 1.3 million tons chlorine per year out of which 75% capacity split in two cell rooms, to more efficient design.

To assist with this major anode fabrication work De Nora planned significant capital investment at the Chardon Plant. These investments will help De Nora in improving competitiveness for new anodes, for anode conversion and future projects. All the elements are fabricated at our qualified vendor shops in Italy and Brazil.

De Nora is very excited to work on this project and is looking forward to everyone’s support for successful execution.
